Padded Cell by Jennifer Rubell: an 8’X16’ room padded with 1,800 + cones of cotton candy and illuminated by a single light bulb. The installation is claustrophobic and plays with the idea of confinement, pleasure, excess, the price of pleasure and the dark side of pleasure as punishment. I’m frightened and intrigued at the same time.
